Wow, it's been a long time since I started this blog and a lot has changed! I am currently an assistant professor at the University of Arkansas Fort Smith in the School of Education. I was hired to be the Director of Assessment and teach assessment courses. What a phenomenal opportunity to merge my passions for education and collaborative data-driven decision making!
Resuming this blog was part of my professional growth plan for 2014, and whew, I just made it! ;)
Additional responsibilities include coordinating the Elementary Education degree program, coordinating LiveText (the online software system we use to manage our assessment data), coordinating a pilot of edTPA (a national teacher performance assessment for pre-service teachers), and coordinating for a CAEP (Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation) accreditation visit in Spring of 2017.
The absolute BEST part of my job is teaching assessment to undergraduates in the teacher preparation program.
So look forward to posts about all things assessment from pre-K through higher education! I even hope to have some of my students guest blog!
Here's a little something to get you started on the topic. Have you heard or read Mark Barnes' position on Teachers Throwing Out Grades #TTOG?
Immeasurably,
Christine Ralston, PhD
